Threats
- Destruction and alteration of tall grass prairie due to intense agricultural use and urban residential, industrial, and commercial development,
- Recreational use of sites
- Hay mowing that disrupts the specie’s sexual reproductive cycle
- Reduction in populations of important pollinators
- Localized environmental catastrophes such as insect predation, because of small, fragmented populations
- Reduced genetic diversity
