A Guide to Fiber-Reinforced Polymer Trail Bridges
By James "Scott" Groenier, Merv Eriksson, and Sharon Kosmalski
When a trail in a remote area needs a bridge, building with conventional materials can be a weighty problem. One alternative may be a fiber-reinforced polymer (fiberglass) bridge. This report covers the case histories of five bridges built with fiber-reinforced polymer materials. Tips and hints on design, ordering, transportation, storage, installation, inspection, and maintenance are also included.
