Missoula Field Office

- Additional Information: The FS and BLM share the same campus, not the same building, with the exceptin of the BLM and FS fire crews and engines that are housed in the same building. 20 FS seasonal fire employees serve at this location with permanent BLM fire employees. The FS seasonal fire fighters work a about 6-8 months a year. Only a few money transfers occur in Missoula; a key one is for janitorial contracts (i.e. FS pays BLM for building maintenance). Two Forest Service employees are paid by the BLM to do their cutting, also. Both BLM and FS fire workers share resources and there are many examples of interagency cooperation. The BLM employees view the FS fire workers as "part of the team," and the Field Manager, with BLM money, has purchased lockers for FS fire employees to store their equipment.
