Forest Service Urban Research Areas

Forest Service scientists study a range of urban forestry and environmental topics to provide the information and tools communities need to improve their natural resources and the lives of their residents. Science application, demonstration, and learning are central to the research program. With the help of the agency's Urban and Community Forestry and Conservation Education programs and a diverse set of outside partners, Forest Service scientists promote knowledge-sharing, environmental literacy, and community engagement across all urban research areas.
