Current Research

My current research goals are to 1) estimate the effect of increasing wood energy use in the United States on mitigation of greenhouse gas emissions, 2) evaluate how differing forest treatments acrosss differing forest treatments affects carbon mitigation my altering forest carbon, wildfire emissions, wood energy use and wood products use, and 3) evaluate the impact of changing forest products markets including wood energy on forestry sustainability

Research Interests

  • Estimate wood biomass supply for bioenergy and biofuels
  • Evaluate carbon storage in wood products
  • Provide socioeconomic Indicators of for est sustainability
  • Evaluate status and trends in markets for fuelwood, bioenergy and biofuels

Why This Research is Important

This research is important in clarifying how wood products use, and not only additions to forest carbon, can mitigate accumulation of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere.
