Youth & Veterans Caring for the Land and Serving the People

HistoriCorps Veterans Perform Logout on Forest Lands

Forest Service partnerships and collaborations with Youth and Conservation Corps and other youth and veterans employment organizations are critical to mission accomplishment. Corps participants support every aspect of Forest Service operations and include a wide range of activities critical to healthy forests. Whether in teams, internships, or other types of placements, young people contribute on every forest, grassland and prairie in every region.

Young people and veterans access Forest Service opportunities in a variety of ways.
In 2013, over 8,500 youth, young adults and veterans between the ages of 14 and 31 contributed to restoration of healthy forests and grasslands as a volunteer or corps/crew member.

Some Forest Service opportunities can result in non-competitive hiring. Visit the navigation bar to find information about various service programs the Forest Service provides for youth and veterans.
