This month’s theme provides the opportunity to discuss the year-round, #365Response mitigation initiatives that the Forest Service does in addition to the highly publicized work seen during a severe wildfire season.

Did You Know?

  • One of the most effective ways to mitigate wildfire risk is to restore and maintain resilient landscape with a nature fire regime
  • To ensure the Nation’s forests and grasslands and adjacent land is resilient to the impacts of wildfire, we must continue our efforts to reduce wildfire risk through restoration efforts and efficient wildfire response
  • When a response to wildfire is necessary, the Forest Service works to control fires in a coordinated manner that is safe and efficient
  • Mitigating wildfire risk and development of resilient landscapes and communities requires on-going collaboration with multiple partners
