At the moment, we are currently experiencing a lack of refurbished Forest Service computer inventory for our [Internal Link]. Therefore, we will need to pause the program.
When inventory is available for the the program will restart. We will post this information on the webpage. Please note that the program assesses business requirements and requests are filled based on a case-by-case basis.
With regard to the New Employee and Break Replace programs, they are still available to fill computer orders for Primary computers that meet eligibility.
USDA Forest Service employees that are moving to another location within the agency are required to take their primary computers with them.
- Local sites should evaluate their current inventory to see if there are computers available that are not being actively used (e.g., vacant–as in assigned to a vacant position, loaner, or secondary computers).
- If you were sent a replacement computer, your old computer must be returned to the CIO Depot. Units should not have an inventory of computers that are not being used.
- If the local site has computers that are validated as vacant, these computes should be returned to the CIO Depot using the [Internal Link] process. Vacant-validated computers will help to increase the inventory used by the .
