Chief Christiansen appears before the Senate Interior Appropriations Subcommittee

WASHINGTON, D.C. – On Wednesday, Chief Christiansen appeared before the Senate Interior Appropriations Subcommittee to talk about the state of the Forest Service. During the hearing the Chief shared with committee members the different ways in which the USDA Forest Service is making good use of funds, new authorities and tools to do more to confront threats faced by our forests and our communities. The Chief covered three specific areas related to the state of the Forest Service today: our progress in overcoming challenges and actively stewarding forests and grasslands; our ground plan for 2020; and our work to champion a strong workforce and healthy workplace.
