Gifford Pinchot: Walrus of the Forest originally appeared in Highlights for Children, August 2005 for the centennial anniversary of the US Forest Service, the agency he founded with President Theodore Roosevelt.  It has been updated and reprinted to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the Gifford’s birth and is available here for you to download.
