Threats
- Conversion of high pineland and scrub for agricultural purposes, principally citrus groves; and for commercial, residential, and recreational purposes
- Fire suppression, including reduced fire frequency due to the firebreak effects of roads and agricultural land uses)
- Invasion by weeds wherever fill dirt is brought in, as for roadbeds or shoulders
- Trash dumping, recreational use of off-road vehicles
