Threats
- Plants are easily uprooted and do not survive when their habitat is disturbed
- Heightened interest in hiking along with influx of mountain-bikers to the area has resulted in increased trampling and disturbance of the plant and its habitat
- Heavy cattle use in part of its range
- Concerns in Colorado are unknown
