	Critically Imperiled Plant Profile (Not Listed or Proposed under the Endangered Species Act) From this 1937 collection by Carl Sharsmith, you can see that this draba forms dense cushions with twisted seedpods. Photo courtesy University and Jepson Herbaria (University of California). Habitat for this plant is in protected rock crevices above 3500 meters elevation. Whitney draba Threats This alpine endemic is only known from about 4 to 5 sites in the southern Sierra of California (in three counties). There may be no threats beyond global warming and small population size. All known sites are on public lands and may receive some protection from that.
