Solidago houghtonii, Houghton’s goldenrod

This species is generally restricted to narrow bands of open, calcareous, lakeshore habitat. The species’ primary limiting factor is its restricted habitat, which requires the natural dynamics of the Great Lakes system to maintain a suitable environment.
