Picnicking on the Ogden District
All campgrounds may be used for picnicking, however, campgrounds which charge a use fee must be paid for in full when being used in any way from Friday to Sunday noon. From Sunday afternoon to Thursday evening, picnicking for a short time will require a charge of one half the total rounded up to the next full dollar.
The only recreation site used exclusively for day-use and picnicking is the Bluffs on Cemetery Point. Cemetery Point is a peninsula on te east side of Pineview Reservoir and is reached by going through Huntsville.
Other recreation sites that have special provisions for picnicking are Anderson Cove and Perception Park. The use of Anderson Cove for day-use only requires a one half fee than overnight use. Perception Park picnic is free.
The Maples near Snow Basin or Willard campground are also available for either camping
or picnicking without charge.

| Bluffs is surrounded on three sides by the reservoir, and sandy beaches. There is plenty of shade from the many trees surrounding the attractive picnic facilities on a flat grassy plateau above the level of the reservoir. The season generally runs from early May through September. Elevation is 5,000 feet. | ![]() |
An alternative to this site is Middle Inlet Swim Beach which is located north of Huntsville. Continue north on Highway 122 from Huntsville for 1.5 miles and watch for the entry gate on the left. Middle Inlet facilities are not as highly developed as Bluffs but tend not to be as crowded.
