Kamas Ranger District
Winter Trails
Kamas Ranger District offers a variety of winter-time activities.
Separate networks of trails are available for snowmobiling and
Nordic skiing. Since snowfall varies year to year, it is recommended
that you either contact the Kamas Ranger District or check the
winter snow conditions link on the home page to determine the snow
conditions and if grooming has begun on the trail systems.
Ski and Snowmobile Trails
This map can be obtained from the Kamas Ranger District. Be careful
to choose trails that
match your abilities. Beaver Creek trail has a restriction that
only allowes dogs on odd
numbered days. Other animals, such as horses, are not allowed.
In addition, snowshoers
are requested to not use groomed trails.


Snowmobile Trails
Snowmobile
trails vary in difficulty. The primary trail on the Kamas Ranger District
is the Mirror Lake
Highway, Highway 150, which is groomed by the State of Utah for
winter fun. Parking is limited on the Kamas,
Utah side of the highway but additional parking is available at
Bear River out of Evanston, Wyoming. Several of
the unmaintained trails are subject to occasional avalanche. Riders
should take note of weather , snow and
avalanche conditions before traveling the trails.
