Lynda has conducted USFS botany and timber work in Regions 1, 2, 4, 6, and 9. She is highly skilled in plant systematics and taxonomy and is an expert at using a variety of regional floras. Lynda’s graduate work investigated factors affecting the success of biological control programs on non-native plants in estuarine environments. Prior to coming to the Forest Service she worked as a researcher at Portland State University conducting aquatic plant surveys in lentic and lotic systems across Oregon, Idaho, and Wyoming. She traveled to Guam and Saipan as part of a research team that developed the fresh water plant portion of the Micronesian Biosecurity plan in response to U. S. military buildup on Guam.
