Cindy has been with the Forest Service since 1980, spending the majority of her career with the Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest in the Pacific Northwest. Cindy has developed her skills through professional courses, training, and personal mentorship. She has sought numerous career-developing experiences and details including two with TEAMS Enterprise Unit and many with the Forest Service headquarters office in Washington, DC. For the past 20 years, she has also responded to wildland fires and natural disasters nationwide.
As a writer-editor working with Northwest Forest Plan, Cindy has experienced some of the most challenging environmental regulations in the nation. In addition to her role as a writer-editor, she has worked as a national forest public affairs specialist and has assisted in public outreach efforts. Her approach to public outreach has been has been well received in gaining public trust and participation to implementing several projects without litigation.
She has represented the Forest Service as a fire information officer at the National level reporting natural disaster information to the Forest Service Chief, USDA, the White House, Congress, and national news media. Her over all fire information experience includes developing briefings, talking points, and communications plans for high profile disasters, preparing for VIP tours, coordinating public meetings, and writing press releases.
Cindy designs, approves, and manages Web content for Forest Service Web sites. She has developed and produced a wide-range of Forest Service publications.
Cindy has worked with TEAMS since 2009.
