Haston, David . 2008. Helicopter Fish Strainer. 0851 1302P. San Dimas, CA: U.S. Department of Agriculture, Forest Service, San Dimas Technology and Development Center. 8 p.

Helicopter snorkel and bucket operations can be restricted in certain water bodies when threatened or endangered (T&E) aquatic species are present. The Forest Service, U.S. Department of Agriculture, San Dimas Technology and Development Center (SDTDC) developed a helicopter fish strainer that incorporates design and performance standards that prevent aquatic organisms from reaching the snorkel or bucket during drafting and dipping operations in still bodies of water, such as lakes or ponds.
