forests” those that protect water quality, provide
habitat, forest products, opportunities for recreation and
other public benefits.

As of February 14, 2012 the Forest Legacy Program has protected 2,245,180 acres in 43 States and Territories. Currently 53 States and Territories are enrolled in the program.
