Career Biography

Professional Experience

2000 - present Research Hydrologist. USDA Forest Service, Rocky Mountain Research Station, RWU4352, Ft. Collins, CO.
1995 - 2000 Assistant Professor. Department of Earth Resources, Colorado State University, Ft. Collins, CO.
1985 - 1995 Research Assistant. University of California, Santa Barbara, NASA Interdisciplinary EOS IE

Education

1995 Ph.D. in Geography from the University of California, Santa Barbara
1988 M.A. in Geography from the University of California, Santa Barbara
1985 B.A. in Geography from the University of Colorado

Research Interests

My general interests are related to surface hydrology. My primary interest is snow hydrology and specialties within this area include snow distribution and snowmelt modeling. I have active research programs in multiscale mountain hydrology, satellite estimation of snow-covered area beneath clouds, glacier mass balance, and alpine climatology. Other strengths include field techniques for hydrological and climatological studies, GIS, GPS, and remote sensing analytical capabilities.
