Sandra Ryan-Burkett

Sandra Ryan is a Research Hydrologist/Geomorphologist with the Rocky Mountain Research Station in Fort Collins. My research interests are in the fluvial geomorphology of mountain streams, including sediment supply and transport processes and the impacts of disturbances on channel form and aquatic habitat.

Current and past research projects pertinent to the Fraser Experimental Forest include:

• Impacts of mountain pine beetle outbreak on large wood loading and channel morphology
• Techniques for monitoring the movement of bedload
• Channel maintenance flows in gravel bed rivers
• Impacts of large-scale, transbasin flow diversion on channel form and function

Suggested readings:

Defining phases of bedload transport using piecewise regression.

Morphologic response of subalpine streams to transbasin flow diversion.
