The Lewis and Clark National Forest administers 1,862,291 acres* of land. Twenty-one percent of the total area administered by the Lewis and Clark is in a reserved designation such as Wilderness. There were 299 FIA sample locations within the Lewis and Clark National Forest, of which 267 locations were classified as forested, 30 locations were classified as either nonforest or water, and 2 locations were inaccessible.
