Kaibab National Forest

Core Tables Caveat
Users need to be aware that the results obtained by creating tables using the national FIADB will differ from the Forest reports or these Forest detail tables. Some of these differences are caused by the following:

1) The calculated nonstocked forest type stored in the national FIADB has been replaced with the field recorded forest type in the Forest reports and Forest detail tables. The field recorded value is often based on evidence from the previous stand. This substitution does not affect the stand size class attribute.
2) The term “timberland” used in the Forest reports and Forest detail tables is not the same as in FIADB. Here timberland does not take into consideration differences in reserved status or site productivity class, whereas the FIADB definition considers only nonreserved sites producing at least 20 cubic feet/acre/year (productive timberland).
3) Forest report values created using FIADB will not necessarily match Forest detail values. This is due to rounding of plot expansion factors in FIADB. FIADB area expanders are integer numbers whereas regional area expanders are stored as real numbers.
