The Beaverhead-Deerlodge (B-D) National Forest administers 3,352,288 acres* of land. Seven percent of the total area administered by the B-D is in a reserved designation such as Wilderness. There were 547 FIA sample locations within the B-D National Forest, of which 442 locations were classified as forested, 101 locations were classified as either nonforest or water, and 4 locations were inaccessible.
