Krista M. Gebert is an economist with the Economic Aspects of Forest Management on Public Lands unit at the Rocky Mountain Research Station in Missoula, Montana. A native Montanan, Krista received a B.A. in economics with high honors in 1994 and an M.A. in economics in 1996, both from the University of Montana-Missoula. Before that, she got an A.A. degree in business administration from Western Montana College. She was employed as an economist by the station from 1996 to 2000. She then served as the Manufacturing Research Project Coordinator for the Bureau of Business and Economic Research at the University of Montana for over a year before returning to a permanent position with the Rocky Mountain Research Station in July of 2001.
Areas of research over the years have included timber economics, federal revenue sharing and tax equivalency, and the economics of wildland fire management.
