Resource Selection of Black-Backed Woodpeckers in Burned Forest and Mountain Pine Beetle Infestations
Abstract
The project's goals are to:
- estimate home ranges during the breeding season, fall, and winter in recently burned and mountain pine beetle habitats;
- document seasonal time budgets in recently burned and mountain pine beetle habitats;
- compute general and forage resource selection models for black-backed woodpeckers;
- develop a demographic population model that compares black-backed woodpecker demographics in burned and mountain pine beetle habitats of the Black Hills, SD.
