Large Fire Suppression Expenditure Model
This study, completed in 2003, was designed to estimate fire-specific,
total suppression costs, based on cost records from all agencies
involved in sampled fires and multiple linear regression models
of cost per acre as a function of site-specific conditions. The final
products include: 1) an extension
of data and/or analysis to reflect a) wilderness designation, b)
roadless designation, and c) addition of Region 5 in terms of north-south and
aircraft use; and 2) two publications ( Western Journal of Applied
Forestry and Fire Management Today.)
