Plot_info.csv

\Data Comma-delimited ascii text file containing a description of the 5 plots (study sites).
SurfaceFuel.csv \Data Comma-delimited ascii text file containing the surface fuel loading (dead and down fuel on the forest floor) before treatment began in the 5 plots (study sites), broken down by size.

Trees_over_DBH.csv

\Data Comma-delimited ascii text file containing tree characteristics for all the trees over 0.5 meters tall in the 5 plots (study sites).

Trees_1ft_to_DBH.csv

\Data Comma-delimited ascii text file containing basic tree characteristics of small trees in only 3 of the 5 plots (study sites). Small trees are those less than dbh in height, but at least 1 foot tall.

Size_LargeLiveBranches.csv

\Data Comma-delimited ascii text file containing standard branch measurements for every live branch (>1 centimeter) in all 5 plots (study sites).

Biomass_SmallLive_AllDead_Branches_from_LargeTrees.csv

\Data Comma-delimited ascii text file containing the biomass, by tree height, for the small live branches (< 1 centimeter) and dead and broken branches, for trees with large branches (> 1 centimeter).

BoleDiam_at_DiffTreeHt_Plots4-5.csv

\Data Comma-delimited ascii text file containing the diameter of boles at various heights of the individual trees in the Blodgett and Salmon study plots. It was used to predict bole biomass for each height.

TreeHt_at_DiffBoleDiam_Plots1-3.csv

Comma-delimited ascii text file containing tree heights at different bole measurements for individual trees in Ninemile, Salmon and Flagstaff for the canopy fuels project. Heights were measured at various diameter of boles. This file was used to make predictions of bole biomass at every meter in the canopy.

Biomass_AllDeadBranches_from_LargeTrees.csv

\Data\Sampled Comma-delimited ascii text file containing measurements of biomass for woody fuels of sampled dead branches from plots 2-5. Branches that were sampled were sorted by size, dried and weighed. These data were used to predict biomass for the dead branches that were not sorted.

Biomass_byHT_Trees_1ft_to_DBH.csv

\Data\Sampled Comma-delimited ascii text file containing a representative sample (neither systematic or random) of the 'small' trees (from \Data\Trees_1ft_to_DBH.csv) where biomass of lichen, foliage, woody fuels, and cones were measured. This file was used to predict biomass for each fuel component by height for small trees at the study sites. It was also used to calculate the proportion of the biomass in each fuel component and this information was used to predict biomass of the small trees which were not sorted.

Biomass_LargeLiveBranches.csv

\Data\Sampled

Comma-delimited ascii text file containing measurements of biomass for woody fuels of a selected portion of the branches > 1 centimeter which were selected to be sorted. Branches that were sampled were sorted into fuel components, dried and weighed. The fuel components were foliage, and live and dead woody material of different sizes. These data were used to create regression equations using the variables measured for each branch to predict biomass for each size component for the branches that were not sorted.

Biomass_SmallBranches.csv

\Data\Sampled Comma-delimited ascii text file containing measurements for the biomass of each size fuel component for the small (< 1 centimeter in basal diameter) branches that were selected to be sampled from plots 2-5. The branches were sorted by fuel component size and then weighed after drying.

PredBiomass_DeadBranches.csv

\Data\Predicted Comma-delimited ascii text file containing predictions for each fuel component of the dead branches in the 5 study sites. Predictions were made using the sorted branch file for dead branches (\Data\Sampled\Biomass_AllDeadBranches_from_LargeTrees.csv).

PredBiomass_LargeLiveBranches.csv

\Data\Predicted Comma-delimited ascii text file containing predictions for dry biomass of fuel components for all live large branches. Predictions were made using regression equations obtained using the sorted branch data (\Data\Sampled\Biomass_LargeLiveBranches.csv) and the branch characteristic variables.

PredBiomass_SmallBranches.csv

\Data\Predicted Comma-delimited ascii text file containing predictions for biomass fuel components for all small branches. Predictions were made using the sorted small branches (\Data\Sampled\Biomass_SmallBranches.csv).

PredBiomass_Trees_1ft_to_DBH.csv

\Data\Predicted Comma-delimited ascii text file containing the predicted biomass of live and dead fuel components by height for small trees that were not sorted at the study sites. Predictions were made using the small tree measurements (Biomass_byHT_Trees_1ft_to_DBH.csv).
