Education

Currently, I am studying to earn a degree in Civil Engineering at Boise State University with a minor in Spanish language. I expect to graduate in the Spring of 2011. I am the President of Boise State's Engineers Without Borders chapter, an organized club committed to improving the lives of third world citizens through the implementation of engineering projects, such as building latrines or purifying water supplies. I will positively change the lives of thousands of people. I plan to study abroad in Santiago, Chile from the Fall of 2010 through the Summer of 2011.

Background/Research Interests

I am thoroughly enjoying being a part of the Boise Aquatic Sciences Lab and am learning more than school could ever teach me. My work here, which partly includes conservation education for children, is expanding my desire to look further into environmental engineering, or possbily even teaching. It is my belief that children need nature as much as nature needs children. It is important that we keep the two in close contact so that our environment will be cared for in future years.

Spanish is something I am very passionate about as well. I enjoy conversing with other Spanish speakers and I love studying new perspectives and cultures. I hope to one day transfer the knowledge I am gaining from the Rocky Mountain Research Station to people all around the world, in many different languages.

Hobbies

Nothing beats the company of good friends and family. Almost anything that involves being active also gets my attention: playing basketball, golfing, swimming, running, hiking, camping, backpacking, wakeboarding, snowboarding, horseback riding, salsa dancing.... I could go on forever!
