Current Research

Estimating fine grained forest characteristics using remote sensing techniques (Uncompahgre Plateau).

Developing new spatial modeling procedures that quickly process large amounts of data (RMRS Raster Utility).

Integrating supply chain models with estimates of forest characteristics derived from high resolution imagery (Biomass).

Research Interests

Understanding the relationships between landscape patterns and forested ecosystems processes.

Pyrolysis techniques and the utilization of woody biomass.

Spatial and statistical modeling.

Remote Sensing

Past Research

Using remote sensing to identify and describe Longleaf Ecosystems.

Why This Research is Important

This research provides detailed estimates of forest characteristics and GIS tools that can be used to address a wide range of spatially explicit questions.
