Dalmation toadflax increases fire risk

With funding from the Joint Fire Sciences Program, the Northern Research Station has established studies examining the fuels behavior of invasive plants.

The Rocky Mountain Research Station and its partners have examined the interrelationship of changing fire regimes and invasive species in Sage Steppe and Pinyon-Juniper ecosystems. RMRS published a synthesis of science on the interactions of fire and invasive plants in 2008: Wildland fire in ecosystems: fire and non-native invasive plants.
