Summary

This field guidebook was promotes multifunctional landscape management through a concise yet comprehensive and easy-to-understand synthesis of science-based guidelines for planning and designing conservation buffers, corridors, and greenways in both rural and urban settings. The guidebook presents guidelines for applying buffers to protect soil, improve air and water quality, enhance fish and wildlife habitat, provide recreation opportunities, and improve economic returns. The Association for Communication Excellence in Agriculture, Natural Resources, and Life and Human Sciences honored this publication with a Gold Award. The guidebook has been translated into Chinese, Spanish, and French.
