SMALL CONSTRUCTION, HEAVY MAINTENANCE, AND MAJOR REPAIR PROJECTS

These projects are often accomplished at

the district level. Examples include repair

or replacement of roofing, siding, and site

furnishings; construction of small information

stations and signs; fencing; walls; and site

rehabilitation.

The guide provides insight into how these

small-scale activities contribute to or detract

from the overall image intended for the facility.

It establishes a standard for either continuing

the established design character or moving

toward a new character through minor

construction and maintenance.
