Monitoring Tools

Many tools exist today to help the Rangelands Specialist accomplish the job of monitoring. Tools such as Geospatial Positioning Systems (GPS), digital cameras, digital ortho-quad maps, scanners, and digital video can record images, video, audio, and attach documents to a GPS point on a map. Rangelands monitoring tools are being developed to make monitoring the rangelands resource quicker, easier, and more efficient.

• Video Mapping System
  A monitoring system using video mapping, GPS location, and the ability to include audio and video records.
