Cantebury Project
In south-central Colorado, land management agencies and local ranchers and environmentalist are working together to deal with the continual decline of the winter range for elk and deer. The project is part of the Habitat Partnership Program (HPP), a program to increase winter range on Federal lands for wildlife to discourage use on private lands. Control of pinon-juniper has already begun on public lands managed by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) and on private lands.
