  Mark Twain National Forest
Hiking/Equestrian/Mountain Biking

When completed,
the Ozark Trail
will stretch
nearly 1000 miles
through some of
the most scenic country
in the United States.
Much of the trail is on
state or federal land,
but some sections
cross private property.

Respect the rights
and property of landowners.
Close all gates, stay away from timber and mining operations, livestock, homes, etc.
On private land,
all risk and responsibility
is that of the hiker,
not the landowner.

Victory Horse Trail/Ozark Trail, Poplar Bluff Ranger District

This trail is designed to eventually join the
Lake Wappapello Section of the Ozark Trail.
Those camping along the Victory Horse Trail
are asked to select widely-dispersed sites to
minimize impact on the land.
Victory Horse Trail gets its name from an old one-room schoolhouse,
Victory School,
that once stood nearby what is now
the trailhead.

stay on Hwy 67 another 3 miles to
Forest Road 3110 (also called Pine Cone Ridge Road.)
Go 3.5 miles east.  You will see a sign indicating
the intersection of Victory Horse Trail and the Ozark Trail
at Wrangler Trailhead.
Or, from Poplar Bluff, MO, take Hwy 60/67 north;
go east on Hwy 60 about 2 miles to
Forest Road 3117 to the
Victory School Trailhead.
No facilities are provided at either site.
