Two Lakes Loop Trail

Length: 15.7 miles - This trail is designated a National Recreation Trail.

Uses: Hiking

Special Features: Shaded trails, scenic hardwood forest, beautiful views of Indian and Celina Lakes. The main trail is marked in white, with spur trails marked in orange to offer short, day hikes. Much of this trail is on steep slopes and could take 4-5 hours to hike half the distance. Along the trail's routes, wildlife openings are maintained where deer, turkey, quail, and songbirds are commonly seen. One of the Hoosier's Watchable Wildlife areas are along this trail.

From I-64: Take I-64 to IN 37 south (Exit 79), about 51 miles east of Evansville. Take IN 37 south approximately 2 miles to Indian and Celina Lakes Recreation Area.

2_lk_tr.jpg (48117 bytes) There are several parking places to access the trail head as shown above. To use these parking areas you must enter the recreation area where, in season, a parking fee is charge.  If the gatehouse is occupied, please pay a nominal parking fee. There is a small pull off before the gatehouse where you could park and hike in if desired. In the off season, the gatehouse is not manned, and no parking fee is levied.

Within the recreation area, several trail heads are marked with small parking areas at each one.

Be aware you may be sharing the trail with other types of user groups.

Observe the following trail courtesy:

  • Mountain bikers yield to horse riders and hikers. Make your approach known well in advance.
  • Hikers yield to horse riders.
  • Horse riders control your horse.
