Oriole West Trail

Length: 7.2 miles, another 6.5 miles is provided in the adjacent Oriole East trail.

Uses: Hiking, horse riding, and mountain biking.

Special Features: Scenic hardwood forest

Directions to Trailhead

Take I-64 to IN 237/IN 66 west (Exit 86). Go south on IN 66 west four miles to Jeffries Cemetery. Look for a small Hoosier National Forest sign on the right side of the road. Turn left into the parking area next to Jeffries Cemetery. Park there or go across the road at Oriole Pond.

Yielding the Right of Way --

Be aware you may be sharing the trail with other types of user groups.

Observe the following trail courtesy:

  • Mountain bikers yield to horse riders and hikers. Make your approach known well in advance.
  • Hikers yield to horse riders.
  • Horse riders control your horse.
