A destination for skiers and mountaineers for more than a century, the White Mountain National Forest is seeing ever-increasing numbers of winter visitors. Downhill ski resorts, cross-country ski trails, snowmobile trails that connect with the state-wide trail system, ice and mixed climbing opportunities, snowshoeing, and winter camping and mountaineering are all popular pursuits when the snow flies.
