FishingThank you for your interest in fishing opportunities on the White Mountain National Forest. The ponds, brooks, and rivers of the White Mountain National Forest are for your use and enjoyment. A network of highways and hiking trails offer both roadside and backcountry fishing opportunities. Anglers can choose to pursue stocked trout from many of the easily accessible rivers and ponds or hike into backcountry areas to pursue wild brook trout from the numerous mountain brooks.
All fishing on the White Mountain National Forest must be done in accordance with the laws and regulations established by the States of Maine and New Hampshire. State fishing licenses are required to fish on the National Forest and may be obtained from the many sporting goods and general stores in the area. Fishing information can be found at any National Forest Office or Visitor Center. Rivers/Brooks Ponds Fishing Opportunities Map
