Settler's Vegetation Management Project
Location: The proposed project is located in the Townships of Martins Location, Coos County, New Hampshire, and Batchelders Grant, Oxford County, Maine, on the Androscoggin Ranger District.
Proposal: Harvest hazard trees and improve stand conditions within the Dolly Copp and the Hastings Campgrounds, and a red pine adjacent to the Hastings Campground. The Dolly Copp Campground project would harvest approximately 150,000 board feet of timber from approximately 90 acres, and the Hastings Campground project would harvest approximately 60,000 board feet of timber from approximately 40 acres. Harvest would occur in the winter of 2007, after closure of the campgrounds. Only existing roads would be used, and no additional roadwork would be required.
