Developed Campgrounds
AuTrain
This campground has 37 large, wooded, campsites with tables and fireplaces.
Drinking water and toilets are conveniently spaced throughout the campground.
Bay Furnace
There are 50 campsites, each with a fire ring and table. Toilets and
drinking water are conveniently located throughout the campground. A sanitary
dumping station and pressurized drinking water are available for self-contained
vehicles.
Bay View
There are 24 campsites settled beneath red and white pine, oak, maple, and
white birch trees, and just a few steps from the sandy beach. Tables and fire
rings are at each site. Drinking water and toilets are conveniently spaced
throughout the campground. Bay View Campground has a camp host during the
summer months.
Brevoort Lake
Most of the camping area is located on the sandy peninsula that divides Boedne
Bay and Brevoort Lake. Many sites have direct access to the water. The sites
are large, forested, have tables and a fire ring. Water and flush toilets
are conveniently spaced throughout the campground. A trailer dumping station
is near the entrance.
Camp 7
There are 41 campsites set among large shade trees, each has a table and fire
ring. There are seven specified sites available for handicapped people, as
well as other facilities. Drinking water is conveniently located throughout
the campground.
Carp River
There are 44 sites, all wooded and shaded from the hot summer sun. Each site
has a table and a fire ring. Water pumps and vault toilets are conveniently
spaced throughout the campground. There are no accessible facilities available
at this campground.
Colwell Lake
The campground consists of 35 individual family sites, five have electric
RV hook-ups, fire ring, lantern post and tent pad. Toilets and water hydrants
are conveniently spaced throughout the campground.
Corner Lake
There are nine large camping sites, set among big trees with a table and fire
ring at each site. Drinking water and toilets are available.
Flowing Well
There are 10 spacious sites, some situated along the bank overlooking the
Sturgeon River. Tables and fire rings are at each site. Safe tested water
is obtainable from the picnic area fountain, and toilet facilities are available
in the campground.
Foley Creek
The Foley Creek Campground is located 6 miles north of St. Ignace, off H-63
(better known as the "Mackinac Trail)". There are 54 private campsites set
among large shade trees. Each site has a table and fireplace or fire ring.
There are vault toilets, and drinking water at convenient places throughout
the campground.
Grand
Island National Recreation Area
Currently there are 16 designated single campsites on Grand Island. At each
designated site, campers must set up their tents within 15 feet of the site
marker post.
Haymeadow Creek
There are 15 large campsites, all with tables and fire rings. Drinking water
is available at a hand pump and there are toilet facilities. Please be sure
to pack out what you pack in, as there are no trash receptacles.
Indian River
The Indian River Campground offers 5 large, wooded, private sites in quiet
surroundings. This campground is excellent for the traveler because of its
close proximity to M-94, and yet it is still able to retain a secluded, quiet
atmosphere. Drinking water is available, as well as toilets.
Island Lake
Canoeing and boating are favorite pass-times at Island Lake. At this time,
boThere are 45 campsites in a nicely wooded quiet area. Many sites overlook
the lake. Facilities include fire pits, tables, toilets, and drinking water.
Lake Michigan
There are 35 campsites, cold running water and some flush toilets as well
as vault toilets. Many sites are excellent tent sites, located between dunes
20 to 30 feet high. Other sites are suitable for trailers and other recreational
vehicles. Two spaces are specially located for the handicapped.
Little Bass Lake
The campground has 12 large sites, wooded, and conveniently spaced for privacy.
Drinking water and toilets are available.
Little Bay de Noc
Each campsite is on the shore of Little Bay de Noc, on the north end of Lake
Michigan, and has a trail to the sandy shore and waters edge. The North Maywood,
Oaks, and Group Campsites are separated with oak, hemlock and hardwood giving
each camper privacy. The Twin Spring Loop is an open grassy area.
Monocle Lake
Monocle Lake Campground offers 39 campsites in a northern hardwood, aspen,
red maple, and white birch setting. Campsites are available on a first-come
first-serve basis. No reservations are acceptedAll sites have hardened
surfaces and tent pads to accommodate accessibility needs. Accessible tables,
fire rings, and lantern posts are available at each site. Accessible pressurized
water and pit toilets are conveniently spaced throughout the recreation area.
Petes Lake
The campground has 41 sites. All are spacious, forested, and private. Each
site is equipped with a picnic table and grill. Vault toilets and drinking
water sources are conveniently located throughout the campground. The campground
will accommodate the handicapped.
Soldier Lake
There are 44 sites among red pine, aspen, and maple trees. No reservations
are accepted. Campsites are available on a first-come first-serve basis. Each
site has a table and fire ring. There is drinking water and vault toilets,
as well as easy access to the lake throughout the recreation area.
Three Lakes
There are 28 camping sites, all easily accessible to the lake. No reservations
are accepted. Campsites are available on a first-come first-serve basis. Tables
and fire rings are at each site. Drinking water and toilets are conveniently
located.
Widewaters
There are 34 large forested, well-spaced sites affording privacy and seclusion
at each camping unit. Approved drinking water pumps and vault toilets are
conveniently placed throughout the campground. Tables and grills are at each
site.
