2006  Forest Plan Documents & Plan Amendments
In February 2006, Regional Forester, Randy Moore, signed the Record of Decision (ROD) formally documenting his selection of an alternative to become the revised Forest Plan for the Green Mountain National Forest. In April 2006, Regional Forester Moore signed the ROD documenting his selection of an alternative to become the revised Forest Plan for the Finger Lakes National Forest. The ROD documents explain the rationale for his alternative selections.

For Forest Plan Amendments, Administrative Corrections, or Errata, please vsisit the "Plan Amendments" web page.

The Final Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) documents the analysis and effects of alternatives considered for plan revision. The executive summary presents this information in abbreviated form. The EIS appendices include additional information used to analyze effects of the alternatives as well as a summary of public comments received in response to the Draft EIS and Proposed Forest Plan along with the Forest Service response to the comments.

The revised Forest Plans will guide the management of the Green Mountain and Finger Lakes National Forests for the next 10 to 15 years. The revised plans are strategic in nature, with an emphasis on ecological, social, and economic sustainability over the long-term. The Green Mountain and Finger Lakes National Forests held a series of collaborative, monthly public meetings during the Forest Plan revision process. These meetings helped shape the development of the 2006 Forest Plans. We invite you to stay informed and involved as we move ahead with site-specific project planning under the direction of our 2006 Forest Plan.

For information about ongoing projects on the Green Mountain and Finger Lakes National Forests, see the Schedule of Proposed Actions (SOPA) which is posted under "NEPA Projects and Planning."
