Game Fish Present: Primarily Brook trout, Rainbow trout, and Brown trout.
Description: Several streams flowing off of the west side of the Green Mountain Range form the tributaries of the Middlebury River. The streams and tributaries are spring fed and have good natural trout reproduction that is supplemented by stocking by the Vermont Fish and Wildlife Department.
Gear Suggestions: Fly-fishing, spinners and bait fishing are allowed on all portions of the river.

Access: The Middlebury River can be accessed from Route 125 in the towns of Middlebury and Lincoln, Vermont. Town roads off Route 125 provide access to many tributaries. There are several turnouts that provide parking for fishing.

Camping: The Forest Service does not maintain any campgrounds along the Middlebury River. Visit the Vermont State Parks home page for information on camping in the area.
