Game Fish Present: Primarily Bullhead and Brook Trout.
Description: Big Mud Pond is a 15-acre lake that is spring fed. The elevation of the lake is about 700 meters and Big Mud Pond has a depth of about 18 feet.
Gear Suggestions: Fly-fishing, spinners and bait fishing are allowed on the pond. No motorized craft are allowed on Big Mud Pond.

Access: From Danby, Vermont, go east on Forest Road 10 about 6.5 miles to the junction with Forest Road 30. Turn right onto Forest Road 30 and go south about 2 miles to the parking area at the gated end of the road. Then continue south on the Corridor 7 trail about 2 miles to the junction with a log road on the left. Follow the log road and drainage easterly about 0.5 miles to Big Mud Pond.

Camping: The Forest Service allows primitive camping near Big Mud Pond. There are several suggestions and restrictions to camping and it is recommended that you contact the Manchester Ranger District or visit the Green Mountain National Forest web site before camping at Big Mud Pond.
