In 2009 the Green Mountain and Finger Lakes National Forests were able to carry out many vital programs thanks to more than 32,576 hours of volunteers work. Volunteers throughout the forests helped us run interpretive programs, serve as campground hosts and on Youth Conservation Crews, helped staff our offices and provided incredibly valuable program support.
We are always looking for volunteers to help us out in all these capacities. People often volunteer through one of the many partner organizations with which we have relationships.
For more information on volunteering, contact one of our offices or an employee in the specific resource area that interests you. You can find this contact information on our contact page.

Much of the trail and resource maintenance, conservation and education efforts and wildlife conservation programs and projects would not be possible without the help of our many valuable partnerships. The Forests have formal partnerships with more than 52 state, private and national organizations and agencies. This provides the forest with hundreds of thousands of dollars every year in the form of contributions of time, money, expertise and support.
