Finger Lakes National Forest - Passes and Permits

Permits are required to use National Forests lands when there is commercial gain, or when there is an impact on Forest resources (Outfitter Guide Information).  Information about permits for commercial filming, outfitting and guiding, utilities, mushroom harvesting, etc. can be found at the USDA Forest Service website at www.fs.fed.us/passespermits.

Firewood Permits
Firewood Permits can be obtained for dead and downed wood on the Forest. The fee is $10.00 per cord, with a minimum purchase of two cords. Please visit our district office during regular business hours, or call ahead.

Interagency Passes
An Interagency Pass can be purchased at our district office during regular business hours.  Please call ahead to ensure that we have staff and passes on hand. We are not presently able to offer passes on weekends, but Monday thru Friday from 8 am to 12:30 is the best timeframe for us to make arrangements with you. The Golden Age and Golden Access passes are still valid but have been replaced by the Interagency Senior Pass and Interagency Access Pass. Thank you.
