Finger Lakes National Forest - Heritage Resources

Historic Sites, Structures, and Cemeteries

Who Passed This Way?
Please don’t erase the traces of America’s Past.  Archaeological and historic sites hold clues to America’s past.  If disturbed, a part of our heritage may be lost forever.  Sites and artifacts on public lands are protected by Federal law.  If you discover such remains, please leave them undisturbed.  Report your discoveries to Forest Service personnel.

The Finger Lakes National Forest has many historic sites, including cemeteries. The following map depicts military lot numbers, which is how the land was originally divided up for Revolutionary War veterans. To locate farmsteads and sites, please click onto the Alphabetical List, which also shows military lot numbers.
