Non-native Invasive Plants of Concern on the Allegheny
Eastern Region (R9) NNIS Program Overview
Thousands of exotic invasive plants and animals are infesting our local lands and waters. They cause massive disruptions in ecosystem function, wipe-out our native fish and wildlife habitats, and hurt the health of our forests, prairies, mountains, wetlands, rivers, lakes, and oceans. These invaders know no boundaries and they can ruin your outdoor recreational experience. Nationwide, they threaten our agriculture, our economy, and human health. The US Forest Service, Wildlife Forever and the US Fish & Wildlife Service have formed a partnership to work together to eradicate non native invasive species. Follow the links below to see how you can help.
